Common questions or concerns:
1. “Will I know and remember what has happened?” Yes, you will not be unconscious. You will always be able to hear my voice. You will always be able to wake yourself up if you want. It is a process of bringing the sub-conscious to your conscious awareness.
2. “What if I can’t be hypnotized?” Everyone can be hypnotized. Hypnosis is a natural state of mind. You cannot fail at hypnosis.
3. “I don’t want anyone controlling my mind.” Hypnosis will enable you to control your mind better and reject any unwelcome suggestion. Hypnosis empowers the client to recognize attempts to control them through ‘hypnotic suggestions’ such as television advertising.
4. “What if I can’t come out of it?” There has never been a documented case of anyone being unable to come out of hypnosis. Remember, we go in and out of the sub-conscious 80% of every day.
5. “Are you going to make me cluck like a chicken?” Hypnotherapy is not stage show hypnotism. I have never shamed or humiliated a client during the process of therapy and will not begin now.
6. “If I open my mind to hypnosis, the devil will get in.” Hypnosis is the same state of mind as the state of prayer. It is a natural, God-given state. You always have a choice when you learn to use the full 100% of your mind.
7. “What if I discover things that I don’t want to know?” Your mind will not let you remember anything that you cannot handle. You may be able to handle things that you were not able to handle in the past. Remembering and working through these issues helps to release what has been contributing to your pain. It is like a decaying tooth that is outside of your awareness. If the decay remains, you never know when it will pop up and cause you pain. Once you have addressed it and released it, then you are empowered and there is nothing to fear
